  2. Add a new event for your selected tree/area by selecting the “New Event” button at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Select a location for the event from the list of growing areas that correspond to your selected tree/area. This displays a filterable list of growing areas within your Croptracker account.

  1. The crop load vision scanning screen will pop up.

  2. Position yourself approximately 1-2ft away from the tree you’re scanning.

  3. Point your device’s camera directly at your selected tree and allow a marker to tag itself to one of the fruit on the tree. Use the slider at the top of the screen to adjust the marker to the estimated fruit size.

  1. Start the recording near the bottom (trunk) of the tree. See example videos below:

  2. Angle the camera upwards in order to capture any hanging fruit that may be obstructed by branches or leaves.

  3. Move the camera close to and around any fruit present on the tree, ensuring that the markers are appearing over top of the fruit you’re scanning. The fruit count can be found at the bottom of the screen.

    1. Maneuver the camera around the fruit while getting close at different angles in order to see the largest area of the fruit possible.

    2. Use the feedback of the detected fruit on the screen to ensure it is detecting the fruit in view of the area you are focusing on and shift the camera around the fruit until it is detected.

  4. Conclude the scan by taking a couple steps back to view a full image of the tree with all of the fruit markers present.

  5. Press the “Save“ button at the bottom of the screen to end the scan.

  6. A screen will pop up for you to input how much of the tree’s canopy was captured within your scan. Use the slider to indicate the approximate percentage of the tree you captured.

  7. Press the “Save” button in the bottom right corner to save this information.

  1. This will take you to the event you created displaying the information from the tree you just scanned. If you want to scan another tree within this selected growing area press the “+ Add Tree” button at the bottom of the screen. Repeat steps 6-17.
