---- rop Load Vision: Count Scanning Instructions (deprecated)

This article contains instructions, tips and techniques for scanning using the Crop Load Vision module on the Croptracker app, specifically for ‘Count Scanning’. This style of scanning is best for large trees and for obtaining count estimates, not necessarily size predictions.

For more information on how to access the Crop Load Vision module, please contact support@croptracker.com.

Count Scanning

Note: Prior to tree scanning, be sure you are logged into Croptracker on the app, and that your app is up the date. Crop Load Vision is module under development, so app changes are being released all the time.

In the orchard:

  • Select a tree/area of fruit to focus on.

  • Stand approximately 1m /3.5ft away from the area you will scan.

  • Move the camera at a steady pace in a square/circular motion.

    • Watch the screen while scanning to ensure the green dots are landing on the area you wish to scan.

  • Optionally, add multiple scans to a single tree.

    • When finished your first scan on a tree, do not exit the scanning screen, but initiate the camera again and scan a different area of the tree. The scans within a single session, under the same tree, will be compiled together to obtain more information.

The following videos illustrate event set up and show some tree scanning motions. Please note, both videos display ‘Square Size Scanning’. For Count Scanning, as described above, scans can be taken from further back to obtain a larger section of the tree.
