Crop Load Vision: Square Size Scanning Instructions
Â
This article contains instructions, tips and techniques for scanning using the Crop Load Vision module on the Croptracker app, specifically for ‘Square Size Scanning’. This style of scanning is best for smaller tree crops and obtaining enough data on fruit detected for size predictions. This is the technique used in the ‘Tree and Bin Scanning’ experiment.

Square Scanning
Set preference settings to:
Select a tree/area of fruit to focus on
Stand approximately 30cm /1ft away from the area you will scan
Move the camera at a steady pace in a square
Watch the screen while scanning to ensure the green dots are landing on the area you wish to scan. *Note - the dots indicate where depth information as been gathered. depth information is necessary to accurately size fruit.
Optionally, add more scans to a single tree. When finished your first scan on a tree, do not exit the scanning screen, but initiate the camera again and scan a different area of the tree. The scans within a single session, under the same tree, will be compiled together to obtain more information.
