How to Add a Weather Station

This step-by-step guide describes how to add a Weather Station to the system.

Weather Stations receive data from Data Providers using the station's MAC Address. See How to Add a Data Provider for more information on Data Providers.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Under the Farm Manager menu select Remote Stations.
  2. Click Add Remote Station.
  3. Enter the Name of the station and select the station Type.
  4. Enter the Node MAC Address. If the station type is a hub, you can also enter a Hub MAC Address. This can be the same as the node MAC address.

The Node MAC Address ties the weather station to a data provider.

  5. Enter a Description and click Save.
  6. You will be taken back to the Remote Stations page.

Step-by-step guide to add inputs

To track specific columns of data you can add inputs to remote stations.

  1. Find your remote station in the list and select Actions → Edit.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Input Configuration.
  3. Click Add Input. Then:
    1. Select the Input Type. To create a new input type, see How to Add an Input Type.
    2. Enter the Label.
    3. Enter the Input Key. This is the name of the column in the raw data.
    4. Enter the Threshold Accuracy and Threshold Blackout. Previous data points within the threshold accuracy and blackout time (in milliseconds) will be discarded.
    5. Add any Notes.
    6. Scroll to the top of the page and click Save.
  4. Repeat for each input.

    Warning

Adding, enabling or disabling an input will reload the page, clearing any unsaved fields.
