Android App - How to Set Up the LS3578 Barcode Scanner

This step-by-step guide describes setting up the LS3578 barcode scanner using the Android Mobile App.

You will need the scanner on hand to scan the barcodes on this page. If you're having trouble scanning your screen, please print this page.

Configuring the Android device

  1. In the device Settings app, navigate to Language and Input.

  2. Under Physical Keyboard switch Show on-screen keyboard to on.

Configuring the scanner

  1. Reset the scanner to factory defaults.




  2. Set the Bluetooth PIN code to Variable.




  3. Enable Bluetooth HID slave mode.




  4. Configure the scan format.




  5. Set the scan suffix to a period.




Pairing the scanner to an Android device

  1. Enable Bluetooth device discovery on the scanner.




  2. Enable Bluetooth on your Android device and wait for the scanner to appear under Available Devices. The name of the device should begin with LS3578. Tap it to begin pairing.

  3. A prompt will appear asking you to enter a pairing key using the scanner. There is a time limit for this on Android.

  4. Scan the following numbers as required, then scan the End of Message barcode to submit:








  5. If pairing was successful, you're now ready to use the scanner.
