How to View Asset Tracking Data
This step-by-step guide describes how to view data recorded by Asset Tracking.
Step-by-step guide
- Under the Work Crews menu select Asset Tracking.
- You will be presented with a map displaying the location of each device in your organization over the past 24 hours.
- If Asset Tracking is not enabled on any devices, or if the most recent location is more than 24 hours old, the devices will not be shown. See How to Enable Asset Tracking to start recording the location of devices.
- If there is location data, the map will be zoomed in to the general area covered by all devices.
- Each location will be marked by a white circle with a colored rim. Hover over the marker to see the user, timestamp and coordinates for each location.
- The most recent location for each device will be flashing. Older locations will be faded.
- A line is drawn from the current location to each previous location.
- Locations are reported in real time. The page does not need to be refreshed to see the latest data. New locations will briefly flash red.
Using the Map
- In the top left corner of the map, there are Zoom In (+) and Zoom Out (-) buttons, as well as a Zoom Slider below. You may also use the scroll wheel on the mouse to zoom.
- Also in the top left corner is a Fit to Extent button (E). Clicking it will zoom the map in or out to the combined area of the location markers for each device. If there are no location markers on the map, this button does nothing.
- There is a Distance Indicator in the bottom left corner.
- There is a Full Screen button in the top right corner. In Full Screen mode, this button becomes an X, which will turn off Full Screen mode.
