Harvest Quality Vision 3.0: Mobile Scanning Procedure for HQV with Harvest Module

This document contains a how to step by step guide on how Harvest Quality Vision 3.0 works with the Harvest module.

You will need both the Harvest and Harvest Quality Vision modules to access this feature.

Recording a Harvest Quality Vision event will require mapped blocks. See How to Add Your Maps to add your maps before you get started.

For more information on adding modules to your Croptracker account contact support@croptracker.com

Harvest Quality Vision 3.0 does not need to be calibrated.

Step 1: Record Harvest Information

  1. From the iOS application, navigate to the Harvest Events

  2. Tap the ( + ) button to add a new event

  3. Enter event details and save

  4. Record a Harvest Input, enter details, and save.

Step 2: Choose the Harvest Input to scan

Navigate to the "Inputs" list of the Harvest Event created in Step 1, choose the down-arrow widget beside the input you would like to scan and tap "Take HQV Scan":

Step 3: Perform the scan

After choosing 'Take HQV Scan' from the desired input the scanning interface will load:

Aim the iPad so you’re looking at just the contents of the bin and then tap the 'Scan' button.  A green mesh will appear over the apples as you slowly move the iPad over the bin until all of the apples are covered by the mesh.

If you make a mistake you can hit the 'Reset' button (circular arrow above the 'Stop' button) on the right-hand side to try again:

See the following video for a visual representation of the scanning process:

When you have completed the scan, tap the 'Stop' button on the right-hand side.  The application will then take a moment to prepare the scan for review:

The final screen allows you to quickly review the results from a top-down perspective.  Everything should be clearly visible without any large gaps or distortion.

When you're satisfied with the results choose the 'Save' button in the top right and the scan will be immediately uploaded to the Croptracker servers for processing.

Step 5: Review scan results online

Once all your scans have synced, they will be processed in the cloud and your results will appear on your device shortly.  When finished you can review the results of the scans by going to the 'Harvest' menu and choosing 'Harvest Quality Vision Scans'.

Dependent on the size of the scan and currently available processing resources in the cloud the results can take several minutes to complete.
