Field Pack - Reusable Tag Workflow
This guide will demonstrate a streamlined workflow for tracking the packing and palletizing cases of product in the field by field workers. It will also assist on the reporting of packed yields and employee payouts. This workflow is designed for use by account administrators and Field Pack supervisors.
This workflow is presented as an alternative to the stardard workflow outlined in this guide Field Pack - Piecerate Workflow. The main difference is this workflow only requires a single master tag for each master style called a Reusable Master Tag. This reusable tag is scanned for each packed case by a worker along with the workerās employee badge to set the payout for that employee and product, but does not link the employee to the individual case.

Determine the Workflow
There are 3 main workflows possible depending on the requirements of the operation
Which workflow do I use?
The following table outlines the main differences in the two workflows.
Field Pack - Piecerate Workflow | Field Pack - Reusable Tag Workflow |
---|---|
Print a unique tag for each packed master/case | Print a single tag for each master style |
Requires printing hundreds of tags each day | Requires printing only a few tags each day for reference |
Each tag must be affixed to the master/case | Affixing tags to each master/case is not required |
Links the employee to the packed master/case | The employee is not linked to the master/case |
The employee is paid hourly or piecerate | The employee is paid hourly or piecerate |
The master/case can be traced back to its origin | The origin of the master/case is not easily traced |
The barcode affixed to the master/case is easily identified and scanned | The user scanning the reference barcodes must confirm the barcode matches the master/case prior to scanning. Any incorrect scans must be corrected via the Croptracker website |
Print Reusable Master Tags
Follow the steps in the guide Field Pack - Before You Begin to print reusable master tags
Affix the tags to a clipboard or binder for easy access by the scanner/supervisor

After Entering the Field
Once in the field it is possible the mobile devices will have an unstable connection to the internet due to the distance from reliable wi-fi or cellular towers. This is expected and pallets will sync automatically whenever a stable connection can be reestablished. The following steps can be completed with or without a stable connection
