Field Pack - Troubleshooting Common Issues
The standard Field Pack workflow is susceptible to errors due to the operational tempo and the substantial volume of user-entered data, resulting in frequent oversights and missteps. This can cause incorrect data that is spotted while viewing the reports. While the root cause of the erroneous data is not easily explained in the reports, there are common items to watch out for and correct by the account admin. This page goes over some of the most common Field Pack issues and troubleshooting steps.
Update the Croptracker mobile app
Before you begin troubleshooting your issue, please make sure the Croptracker mobile app is up to date. You can manually update the app using this guide Updating Croptracker App
Ensure that the app is fully synced on all mobile devices by navigating to the dashboard and opening the left side drawer to see if there are any unsynced changes
Field Pack Common Issues and Resolutions:
The employee is missing an employee number and/or pay schedule
Use the employee Edit on the Croptracker website to correct How to Add Employees
The pay schedule is missing the hourly pay rate
Use the pay schedule Edit on the Croptracker website to correct How to Add a Pay Schedule
The pay schedule is missing the necessary piece rate entries or the wrong payout is set on the piece rate
Follow the guide on setting up field pack piece rates to ensure all necessary data is entered on the employee’s pay schedule prior to entering the field How to Add Field Pack Piece Rates
The Field Pack event information such as Packing Date and Pack Lot is incorrect
Edit the Field Pack event on the Croptracker website to input the correct information How to Record Field Packing for Web
The product is missing the master style and/or the units per pallet
Edit the Product on the Croptracker website to set the correct information How to Add a Product
The employees are not punched in prior to starting work in the field, or not punched out at the end of their shift
Use the Mobile App - How to Punch Employees In and Out guide to help ensure employees are properly punched in and out
The employee’s worklog is not set to “Flag as piecework”
Follow the Mobile App - How to Edit Worklogs guide to fix information on the employee worklog using the mobile app
You can also adjust worklog information on the Croptracker website using the Punch Clock Admin feature as described in this guide Punch Clock Admin
The wrong employee’s badge was scanned for the packed master tag
If the employee connected to a packed master is incorrect, follow the guide How to Adjust Field Pack Pallets and Masters to make the correction
You can also change the employee on a scanned master using the mobile app by tapping the three dots beside the master and selecting Change employee
The employee’s pay schedule is missing a piece rate payout value for the scanned master tag
In order to correct the payout for a master/case, follow the guide How to Adjust Field Pack Pallets and Masters
The master tag was scanned onto the wrong pallet and/or the pallet is overloaded
You can move a master to the correct pallet by following the guide How to Move Masters from One Pallet to Another
Field Pack Data entry errors can result in the following unexpected behaviour and results:
The pallet tag has missing or incorrect data (product, grower, customer, date)
The data on a tag can be edited by updating the Master Style How to Add a Master Style and Product How to Add a Product
Employee worklogs have not synced/not visible on web
Ensure that all mobile devices are synced with the latest Punch Clock data
The Field Pack Event view on the web is missing pallets and/or masters
Ensure that all mobile devices are synced with the latest Field Pack data How to Sync Masters
The Daily Piecework Report is missing employees and/or worklogs
In order to show in the Daily Piecework Report, the employees must have closed worklogs created via the Punch Clock module
To ensure the worklogs are valid, follow the guide on editing worklogs via the Punch Clock mobile app Mobile App - How to Edit Worklogs
You can also close open worklogs via the web using the Punch Clock Admin Punch Clock Admin
The Daily Piecework Report is showing incorrect payout for one or more employees
To ensure the correct hourly pay is set on the employee’s worklog, follow the guide How to Set an Employee Pay Schedule
The correct pay must be set on each master
The date of the packed masters must fall within the bounds of the employee’s worklog
The Field Pack Event view on the web shows the wrong Product for one or more masters
