This article will go over the steps to upload HQV scans and view results on the Croptracker mobile app. You need the Harvest Quality Vision module to take a view scans. For more information on adding HQV to your Croptracker account, contact support@croptracker.com.

Important to note:

To view results, your device must be connected to Wifi or Data.

The Croptracker app must be open and displayed in order for data to be uploaded. Do not switch apps or close Croptracker when awaiting results as it will pause the upload process.

The screen of your device must not go to sleep while uploading. If you uploading many results at once, changing your device settings to turn off the screen saver is advised.

If you are uploading many scans at once/the end of the day, the upload process may take time. Each scan can take about a minute to upload so if there are hundreds of scans on the device to upload, it can take hours. Please plug in your device and keep Croptracker open to ensure all scans upload as expected.

As long as the bar at the top is orange, the app is uploading data. This can be scans as well as any other data points entered into the app. If it is taking a long time that usually means it is uploading scans - this is normal.

Step by Step Guide:

  1. When you have finished creating an HQV event and capturing the desired scans, hold and pull down on either the HQV Events screen, or the HQV event list as pictured below. This will send the scans up to the cloud for processing.

Note: Upload time will vary depending on the number of scans being uploaded at one time, the speed of the network Wi-Fi connection being used, as well as the size of the scans.

2. When the scans have been processed, size and color results will display with its associated Harvest Quality Vision Event.

Size results will be displayed in 5mm size bands on the app by default. The number of fruit detected/included in the results will be displayed at the top.

The size bands can now be changed to any increment between 1 to 5 mm. Simply click on the option for Size Band

After clicking the Size Band button, you will see a list of size bands to choose from. Select the one you wish to use and you will be returned to the HQV event page with the new size band.

To change the size results view to a custom size class range, select Harvest Class below the results and select from your list of Harvest Classes. For more information on setting up custom size and harvest classes see the linked documents.

Color results will be displayed in 15 hue value range groups. The x-axis is the hue value, and the y-axis is the number of pixels of color detected within that range.

The hue value, in this case, refers to the first # within an RGB color code system. The range is 0-360 with pure red being represented by 0. For more information on hue click here.

You can change the grouping of the hue values by tapping on ‘Color Band’ just below the display.

When finished scanning, ensure the device is connected to wifi or a cellular network so the scans can upload. Results will return to your device when they have finished processing.

The size over time chart displays the average size of the fruit in the block every time there was a scan taken. The x-axis is the event date. The y-axis is the average size in mm.

The main blue line is the average size of the scans within the same block, within the same event, with each point being the HQV event date.

The shaded blue represents the size range of the fruit detected used to calculate the average.

To scroll further backward or forward, press and hold on to the graph and slide.
