How to record a Shipping Event from your Android app

This article will teach you how to record shipments from the Croptracker Android app. To follow along, please make sure you have the latest version of the Croptracker app installed from the Google Play Store.

  1. After logging in to the Croptracker app, tap the Shipping option from your dashboard.
  2. You're now looking at the Shipping Event List; a summarized list of your most recent shipping events. Here's what you can do on this page:
    1. Tap Load More to load more shipping events
    2. Tap the Refresh icon to load the most up-to-date list of events
    3. Tap on a shipping event to view or edit the event
    4. Tap the dropdown arrow next to a shipping event and select Ship Load to mark the shipment as shipped, or Cancel Shipment to cancel the shipment.
    5. Tap the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner (â‹®) and toggle Hide shipped to hide or show shipping events that have already been marked as shipped.
  3. Tap the first option in the list, Tap to create new shipping event, to begin record a shipment.
  4. You're now looking at the Shipping Event screen where you can record or edit a shipping event. This screen is broken down into 2 steps: 1. Load Truck and 2. Details

Load Truck:

There are 2 ways to load a pallet or harvest inventory on a truck:

  1. Scanning harvest or pallet tags.
  2. Selecting from a list of available pallets.
  • To scan a tag, tap the black viewfinder under the Scan Pallet Tags label to turn on the camera, then scan the pallet's QR code

    Scanning Issues

Make sure the camera is in focus and the QR code is centered in the viewfinder. Sometimes it's helpful to toggle the viewfinder off and on again if you're having issues getting the camera to focus.

  • You can also use the LS3578 barcode scanner to scan harvest and pallet tags on this screen. For more information, see Android App: Using the LS3578 Barcode Scanner.

  • To select from a list, tap the Select From List button to display a list of all available pallets in your system. You can use the filter at the top to search for pallets by product, pallet tag, units, time, and status. Check off the pallet(s) you wish to load and tap Save.

    Filtering Tip

Use the filter and Select All checkbox to your advantage. For example, to load all 5.5lb yellow peach pallets, type "peach yellow 5.5lb" into the filter, tap Select All, then tap Save.

  • Loading against a transaction: If you don't use Croptracker's transaction system you can safely leave the "Auto Link Pallet Transactions" option selected. Otherwise, these are what the different options do:
    • Auto Link Pallet Transaction: Pallets loaded while this option is selected will have their transactions linked to this shipping event.
    • Select NO Transaction: Pallets loaded while this option is selected will have their transactions unset.
    • (pick a transaction)The rest of the options in this dropdown will be transactions that are linked to the shipping event. Any pallets loaded while one of these is selected will have its transaction set to the selected transaction. Selecting a transaction will also filter the list of loaded pallets below to show only those loaded against the selected transaction.
