This document will walk through the steps to performing size band scans that will help test and refine HQV for use on your crop/variety. These scans can be used to refine custom profiles for your fruit and further improve the accuracy of HQV.

Note: This process require access to sized fruit. It can be performed on pre-sized fruit or fruit that has been sorted through a pack line and is not packed already. Fruit needs to be visible and on an even surface to perform these scans.

1.Create a new HQV event

  • Under the Lot Code field enter the size range of the fruit you are scanning.

2. Scan fruit of the same size into this event. Follow on screen scan instructions and see scanning instruction document for more tips

Notes on Scanning:

  • The more scans of size fruit, the better for training and testing.

  • A minimum of 5 scans is recommended per size range.

  • Fruit needs to on the same level.

  • Outdoor/daylight scans produce the best results.

  • Be sure preference settings are correct for your crop/variety.

3. Repeat this process for all relevant size bands/groups.
