📘 Instructions
Begin by logging into the Croptracker app on your mobile device.
Select the Crop Load Vision module from the main page.
Choose “Pre-Harvest Fruit Count”.
Add a new event for your selected tree/area by selecting the “New Event” button at the bottom of the screen.
Select a location for the event from the list of growing areas that correspond to your selected tree/area. This displays a filterable list of growing areas within your Croptracker account.
The crop load vision scanning screen will pop up.
Position yourself approximately 1-2ft away from the tree you’re scanning.
Point your device’s camera directly at your selected tree and allow a marker to tag itself to one of the fruit on the tree.
Start scanning near the bottom (trunk) of the tree. See example videos below:
https://youtu.be/FR_z7wPwRPI
https://youtu.be/xuGtsRxiB4cAngle the camera upwards in order to capture any hanging fruit that may be obstructed by branches or leaves.
Move the camera close to and around any fruit present on the tree, ensuring that the markers are appearing over top of the fruit you’re scanning. The fruit count can be found at the bottom of the screen.
Maneuver the camera around the fruit while getting close at different angles in order to see the largest area of the fruit possible.
While moving the camera around and up the tree, transition to positioning the camera straight towards the tree.
Continue the motion of maneuvering around the fruit while moving up the tree.
Angle the camera upwards once again in order to capture the top portion of the tree while getting as close as possible to the higher hanging fruit.
Conclude the scan by taking a couple steps back to view a full image of the tree with all of the fruit markers present.
Press the “Save“ button at the bottom of the screen to end the scan.
A screen will pop up for you to input how much of the tree’s canopy was captured within your scan. Use the slider to indicate the approximate percentage of the tree you captured.
Press the “Save” button in the bottom right corner to save this information.
This will take you to the event you created displaying the information from the tree you just scanned. If you want to scan another tree within this selected growing area press the “+ Add Tree” button at the bottom of the screen. Repeat steps 6-17.
