How to assign permissions to users (Advanced Permissions)

This how-to article describes how to assign Role Groups to users by location.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Navigate to Farm Manager → User Admin.
  2. Set up the Role Groups you would like to assign to the user. See How to add new Role Groups for more information.
  3. Click Edit under the actions menu for the user you want to assign permissions to. You can also assign permissions to new users - see How to add more users for more information, or Creating Advanced Permissions.
  4. Scroll down to the Role Group Assignments by Location section.
  5. You can assign Role Groups to one or more locations in the hierarchy. Your organisation is at the top, with your farms underneath. Any role groups you assign to the organisation are applied to all farms.
  6. To assign Role Groups to a location, click on the selector beneath the name of the location and choose one or more Role Groups.
  7. To remove a Role Group from a location, click the X next to the name of the Role Group.
  8. Click Save to apply your changes. This user should have the permissions you've assigned to them the next time they log in.

When editing an existing user's permissions, changes to their permissions will take effect the next time they log in.
