Crop Load Vision: Fruit Size Event Set Up Instructions and Scanning Tips

This document contains a how-to step by step guide on how to perform a Crop Load Vision Fruit Count Scan. You will need the Crop Load Vision module to access this feature.

  Instructions

  1. Begin by logging into the Croptracker app on your mobile device.

  2. Select “Crop Load Vision” from the Dashboard.

  1. Select “Pre-Harvest Fruit Size”.

  1. To begin sizing fruit on a tree, select “New Event” at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Select the growing area where you want to size fruit. You can filter this list by name or variety at the top of the screen.

  1. Wait for the camera to appear on the screen to begin scanning.

  2. Position yourself approximately 1.5 - 3 feet away from the tree you’re scanning.

  3. Point the camera directly at piece of fruit on your selected tree and allow the app to size it.

  4. Continue to maneuver the camera to other pieces of fruit on the tree that you want the app to size.

      1. Note - the size will reajust as the camera is able to see more angles of the fruit. It is measuring the widest part of the diameter it is able to see.

  5. Hit ‘Save’ when done.

  6. To add another tree to the event hit ‘+Add Tree’ at the bottom of the screen

Adding More Scans to a Tree

  1. To add another scan to the same tree, tap the dropdown menu beside the tree and then tap Edit

  1. While viewing the tree tap + Add Scan at the bottom of the screen

  2. Scan the tree then tap Save

The average fruit size of the tree will be calculated using all detected fruit - when adding more trees to the same event, the average will adjust for the growing area you are scanning in. The more trees / fruit sampled, the higher the accuracy for the block.
